A 19 year old youth was arrested by police after he cut the hair of a girl travelling in a bus last Thursday. It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity later.
The youth had told police that he did this by mistake when he mistook the girl as his ex-girlfriend who had evaded him. The boy had jumped out of the bus and run away with the cascade of hair.
The bus driver had made a complaint about the incident to traffic police officers on duty. The police had taken him to custody to be produced in the Kaluthara Magistrate’s Court.
