A policeman who sexually abused a school girl in Polonnaruwa was arrested.
The arrest was done on a complaint made by a teacher attached to the Royal College of Polonnaruwa. It was revealed that the particular policeman was attached to the Police Divisional Traffic office in Polonnaruwa,
The victimised school girl had been taken to the divisional traffic unit by the suspect police constable and abused there.
The complaint was made after the student had revealed about the incident to one of the teachers in the school.
The suspect police officer was granted personal bail of Rs 100,000 each after he was produced before the Polonnaruwa Magistrate's Courts yesterday.
