The People’s Bank Management has assured that all bank work will be carried out as normal without interruption today (7).
Several People’s Bank trade unions have informed them that they would not lend their support to the one day token strike organised by the Sevaka Sangamaya of the Bank.
The People’s Bank Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya, Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, People’s Bank Officers’ Association and the Sri Lanka Bank Employees’ Association’s Progressive Front have stated that their members would not participate in the strike, stated the People’s Bank management in a media release yesterday.
The Sevaka Sangamaya, they further stated is an affiliated union of the Sri Lanka Bank Employees’ Association’s but it does not garner much support.
