Former Mayor of Galle, Kelum Seneviratne and two of his brothers were allegedly attacked by a group who had forcibly entered his house yesterday morning.
Seneviratne is also a SLPP candidate at the local government elections. Seneviratne and his brothers were admitted to the Karapitiya teaching hospital.
According to Karapitiya hospital sources, two of Seneviratne’s fingers were badly injured.
According to an eye witness, there were some women among the attackers. The attackers had fled after neighbours were alerted by the screams of the victims.
