Pregnant mothers, the elderly, infants, and persons who suffer from other diseases such as diabetes should seek prompt medical attention for fever without any delay.

Treatment should be obtained from a hospital or a qualified doctor. Patients with fever should not attend work or school and they should rest in bed.

They should avoid red food and beverages to assist doctors to diagnose Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). Patients with fever should not take any other medication except Paracetamol.

Other medications such as ibuprofen cause DHF, they added.
