Two women returning to Sri Lanka from Italy have been apprehended by Sri Lanka Customs at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, with 40 bottles of whiskey.
The women were identified as 32-year-old residents of Ja-Ela and Marawila, who arrived in the country on board flight QR 132 at 9.30am yesterday.
The undeclared bottles of liquor were packed inside two boxes,officials said.
