Two individuals were taken into custody following a raid at Nagalangam street in Colombo after it was revealed that they were in the process of packaging narcotics as green tea.
The herbs which were brought into the country from Zambia was to be repackaged and sent overseas. The Police Anti-Narcotics Bureau which conducted the raid confiscated 542 kg of the herb.
Preliminary investigations revealed that narcotic plants were to be re-exported to the United States and UK.
