A 54-year-old father of three was arrested by Rasnayakapura Police, Kurunegala for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl. The suspect has been teaching the girl for a few months and used to come to her house on several occasions when her parents were away.
The girl had gone to a hospital to get medicine for a illness and the physician who examined her had informed her parents that the girl had been sexually abused on several occasions.
After interrogation, the girl had revealed that the tuition teacher had abused her. On a complaint lodged by her parents to police, the suspect was arrested. Investigations are continuing.
