Jagath P. Wijeweera assumed duties as the new Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Ministry Secretary, today.
Previously he served as the Law and Order and Southern Development Ministry Secretary and has also chaired several other departments such as the Immigration and Emigration Department and Sri Lanka Customs.
At the gathering held to mark his taking over of office, Wijeweera pledged to develop the Fisheries Department and to place it among the top industries sourcing revenue to Sri Lanka’s economy.
