A three wheeler carrying seven persons driven towards Kelaniya via Kelaniya-Biyagama main road crashed into a Tipper truck came from the opposite direction at the Mabima Junction in the Sapugaskanda police division yesterday evening killing two children in the three wheeler.
The deceased were identified as Kavindya Nirman Kolabage, two years and four months old from Kahawatta and a girl, Saduni Senelya, one year and three months old from Pallebedda.
The injured were sent to the Colombo National Hospital.
The bodies were kept at the Biyagama Hospital for post mortem.
The Tipper truck driver was arrested. Investigations are continuing.
