Rs 110 mn disbursed for Mullaithivu, Mannar war affected families

Distribution of self-employment equipment, targeting the livelihood development of resettled families was held in Mullaithivu,Mannar yesterday.

Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs Minister D.M.Swaminathan presented them at a fuction .

This programme was implemented in Mannar and Mullaithivu Districts and its first programme was initiated at Madhu Divisional Secretariat.

The Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs Ministry disbursed Rs.50 million for 500 beneficiary families in the Mannar District and Rs.60 million for 600 beneficiary families in the Mullaithivu District.The Ministry has disbursed Rs.110 million for 1,100 families so far.

These funds were distributed to initiate agriculture, animal husbandry, self-employment and small scale business and the amount expended per beneficiary family was Rs.100,000.
