The failure of relevant authorities to implement recommendations of the Human Rights Commission (HRC) will be notified to Parliament through President Maithripala Sirisena, Commission Chairperson Dr. Deepika Udagama said.
She said the Human Rights Act had vested the Commission with necessary provisions in this direction.
As such action will be taken to amend the provisions in order to take action against officials who fail to implement its recommendations.
It was the people who had to undergo suffering owing to the failure to implement the Commission recommendations.
