Arjun Aloysius had contacts with 41 MPs - Deputy Minister

CID investigations have revealed that former Perpetual Treasuries Director Arjun Aloysius had contacts with 41 Parliamentarians over the phone, Power and Renewable Energy Deputy Minister Ajith P Perera said.

Speaking in Parliament on Saturday, the Deputy Minister said the CID had investigated the phone contacts Arjun Aloysius had with all 225 MPs, but the findings were not released to the media in full.

“Only part of the evidence before the Bond Commission had been given out to the media. We have information that the CID had found that Aloysius had contacts with 41 MPs over the phone. Out of which, information on only five Parliamentarians were released to the media. This is not fair. I propose that all 225 MPs must be made aware of the CID findings on those 41 MPs and the date and time of their calls. Then only a clear picture of this whole issue will emerge,” the Deputy Minister said.

He requested the Chair to bring his request to the prompt attention of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
