A man who had allegedly taken nude pictures of a woman in Matara and threatened to publish them if she failed to comply with his advances was arrested by officers of the Matara Police Children’s and Women’s Bureau on October 8 afternoon.
This follows a complaint made to Matara police by the woman on October 6. Police arrested the suspect by tactfully luring him to the Matara sea beach. Police said the suspect, (37) is a resident of Walasmulla.
Investigations revealed that the suspect is wanted for sexually abusing a woman.
He had a sex stimulant and some birth control pills at the time of a arrest. He was produced before the Matara Magistrate on October 9. Investigations are continuing.
