Federation of Finnish Enterprises explore investment opportunities in Sri Lanka

The Federation of Finnish Enterprises expressed their willingness to further provide investment and business opportunities to Sri Lanka.

The representatives of the Federation who are currently working with Sri Lankan entrepreneurs said there is an investment and business friendly environment prevailing in Sri Lanka.

The observation was made at a breakfast meeting with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday(10), at the headquarters of Federation of Finnish Enterprises in Helsinki, Finland.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said with the changing economic dynamics in the world, the domestic economic policies also need to be changed accordingly.

He said that the global market has now replaced the regional market that prevailed earlier and added that with the changes it is important to focus on industry and entrepreneurs.

Executive Vice President of the Wärtsilä Corporation Kari Hietanen commended Sri Lanka’s target to become the economic hub of the Indian Ocean.

Representatives from Fortum, Cargotec, Konecranes, Nokia, Outotec, Visala, Wartsala and Iceye corporations also participated.

Ports and Shipping Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe explained that a positive and a strong business friendly environment has been created in Sri Lanka.
