Twelve schoolchildren travelling in a trishaw were injured when the vehicle collided with a tractor at Aviththawa, Elpitiya yesterday.
The driver of the trishaw was injured in the accident.
The driver and two students are said to have sustained serious injuries. The other students sustained minor injuries. Eight male students and four female students were travelling in the trishaw.
Police said they had arrested the driver.
The Police are investigating.
