Thusani adjudged Best Woman Sub-Inspector

Woman Sub Inspector E. N. Rasika Thusani attached to the Moneragala Medagama Police Station was adjudged the National Best Woman Sub-Inspector at the service evaluation competition held at district, provincial and national levels parallel to the 150th Police anniversary.

The awarding ceremony was held at Bambalapitiya Police Field Force Headquarters on Thursday under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Speaking to the Daily News, Sub-Inspector Thusani said she has been serving in the police force for 12 years. She had served at Tangalle Hungama Police Station and Akuressa Police Station.

Sub-Inspector Thusani is in charge of the Women’s Bureau and supervises the duties of PC and WPC officials.

Her involvement in various raids, crime control activities, solving family disputes, counseling and child protection programmes have given her a lot of experience.

She said she owes her gratitude to SP Sujith Wedamulla, DIG, Aruna Premashantha, ASP, S. M. J. Samaranayaka, ASP Jayantha Rathnayake Medagama OIC, IP Sagara Dayarathana and Medagama former OIC, IP Pushpakumara Ferdinando and other officials.

Thusani hails from Akuressa, Maraba.
