A cab plying on A6 road crashed onto a motorcycle at Puwakpitiya junction, injuring the cyclist seriously on Monday morning. He was later rushed to Galewela Divisional Hospital under a critical condition.
The vehicles had collided head on. According to the police, the cab belongs to the Ceylon Electricity Board.
Eye-witnesses said the cab was riding at high speed at the time.
However, the victim has not been identified by the police. The driver and cab were taken into police custody.
Galewela Police are investigating.
