Western Province to become eco-friendly tourism hub

The Western Province will be developed into an eco-friendly tourism hub within the next three years, Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya said.

The chief minister said tourist attractions of the province would be identified and developed to contribute for the sustainable development of the country.

He was addressing the media at the Western Provincial Council Auditorium yesterday. Devapriya said measures have been taken to implement waste management projects in Karadiyana and Muthurajawela to solve the garbage issue.

He said the people should be responsible for cleaning their surroundings to prevent the spread of the dengue virus.
