LIOC officials obstruct CPC duties in China Harbour

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation officials who went to attend repairs of oil tanks in the Trincomalee China Harbour yesterday made a complaint with the Trincomalee police that they were obstructed by the Lanka Indian Oil Company officials.

Deputy Manager (Operations) of CPC Menaka Jeevasiri in his complaint to the police had said that the company officials obstructed their official duties. He said that his officials were held

by the company officials for more than an hour.

He had told the police that they were assigned to carry out urgent repairs in 16 tanks in the oil tank farm in the harbour yesterday.

China Bay police sources said Lanka IOC Senior Vice President Chittem Raju made a complaint to the police yesterday evening citing that CPC officials entered the company without any permission.

Raju had told the police that the CPC officials were permitted to enter their premises on December 28.

He had said he can not grant permission to enter the company premises without the approval from his higher ups of the company.
