The Sri Lanka Signals Corps. Sound familiar? Well if they’re not, then you would be interested to know that the Sri Lanka Signals Corps or SLSC for short, is one of the oldest regiments of the Sri Lanka Army. They’ve also contributed and continue to contribute essential ICT requirements of the Sri Lanka Army.
Commemorating 75 Years of the SLSC
The SLSC commemorates its 75th anniversary this month. So why is this a big deal? Well, it’s because of what’s going to happen for it. Arimac, the tech giant with some ambitious dreams has come forward to help the SLSC as the Digitization Partner for the former’s anniversary.

As such Arimac would lend their expertise in terms of research and development for IT and AI. Focusing on this milestone, the SLSC would be hosting a Symposium coupled with an ICT Exhibition on the 28th and 29th of November at the BMICH. The exhibition would be where Arimac would demo an immersive 360-degree virtual walk-through. The walkthrough would showcase how the Sri Lanka Army has adopted ICT over the last 75 years.
The symposium will be where the SLSC would aim to enhance public knowledge of contemporary and next-gen ICT requirement and services. This would be carried out via the assistance of leading local and foreign agencies. These include Dialog Axiata, the National Radio Telecom Corporation of Pakistan, Bharat Electronics, India and ST Engineering, Singapore.
Arimac has more plans in store for the SLSC
In addition to the ideation and development of the virtual walk-through, Arimac would also help the SLSC digitize its administrative methodologies and procedures. As such, Arimac would help out in terms of IT and AI solutions, under the proposal presented to the Sri Lanka Army Signal Corps.
According to Major General Ajith Wijesinghe, Military Secretary of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of SLSC, the partnership between them and Arimac would help spread awareness of the importance of ICT in the defense industry. He added Arimac would be onboard as Digitalization partner for the next two years, offering their expertise free-of-charge as well.
