MP S. B. Dissanayake yesterday vowed to defeat the forthcoming budget.
He was speaking at a press conference by the 16-member SLFP group in Colombo yesterday. He said they have commenced discussions with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and several factions of the United National Party (UNP) to defeat the 2019 budget. He said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera cannot revive the economy. “The SLFP have plans to uplift the economy,” he said . He invited the SLFP Ministers in the government to join them to form a new government led by the SLFP.
