For those of you who don’t know, the Pearson Quality Quest is an event organized by Pearson Lanka. We saw one such event back in 2014. The main purpose of the event is to share expertise on improving software quality through Dev-Ops. Once again, the event returns in the form of Pearson Quality Quest 2018.
The theme for Pearson Quality Quest 2018 is “Inspiring Quality through Innovation”. The finals of the Pearson Quality Quest 2018 will be held on the 12th of September 2018 at the BMICH from 1 PM to 5 PM.
The road so far with the Pearson Quality Quest 2018
The Pearson Quality Quest 2018 kicked off with a series of in-house events. The first of these was article competition aimed at university students. This was followed by a workshop on quality engineering concepts and technologies. Held on the 29th of August 2018, it focused on raising awareness of quality engineering concepts and technologies amongst university lecturers.
A poster competition followed this. Held on the 30th of August 2018, for all Pearson Lanka staff, the competition was judged under two categories. They were success stories for better quality and inspiring quality through innovation. A total of 10 teams participated in this competition and winners under each category were announced by the judges. In addition, the Pearson Lanka Staff were also asked to vote for their favorite poster as well.
The next event was a quiz competition. This was held on the 3rd of September 2018.Here, a total of 15 teams took part in a quiz competition, revolving around engineering concept and related technologies. 8 teams progressed to the quarter-final rounds which were held on the 6th of September.
On to the grand finale of the Pearson Quality Quest 2018
The final event for the Pearson Quality Quest 2018 will be held at the BMICH. It is aimed at 150 internal staff and 100 university students. The keynote speaker for the event would be Rohan Jayaweera – Country General Manager, Palo Alto Networks,
In addition, Dr. Dushar Dayarathna – Senior Lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Teresa Jacob – Vice President Global Software Quality Engineering at Pearson will be guest speakers as well. Following that would be a panel discussion with Malik Ahamadeen – Director/CEO at MAS – Linea NXT and Subuki Shihabdeen – Head of Architecture at Pearson.
