TID officers had arrested a person in Veyangoda area with a stock of weapons in his possession.
Police Media Spokesman said the suspect was identified as Asanga Indunil Attanayake (34), a resident of Naiwala, Essalla, Veyangoda.
A pistol manufactured in a foreign country, a locally manufactured Galkatas rifle, two swords of various sizes, three Kris knives, nine ammunition and a detonator and several other items were found in his possession.
The suspect was produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate’s court and remanded until August 27.
