Power and Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the capacity of renewable energy in electricity generation will be increased to 35 percent by 2020.
The Minister further said that measures were already taken to nourish Sri Lanka with renewable energy and the country will be able to see the results very soon.
"The water capacity of the reservoirs is 60 percent. And renewable energy heavily contribute for the power generation," he said.
The Minister participated in a bodhi pooja yesterday as an expression of gratitude for the blessing with rains.
