All schools in the Kandy district will remain closed today too owing to the tense situation reported in the Digana and Theldeniya areas,Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake said.
“Meanwhile, a Police curfew was re-imposed from 8.00 pm yesterday to 6.00 am today within the Kandy administrative district,” the Police spokesman said.
The Police curfew was imposed in the Kandy administrative district from 3.00 pm on Monday due to the unrest in the Teldeniya and Digana areas, and was subsequently lifted at 6.00 am last morning.
