Two persons who were transporting cannabis under the guise of transporting fish in a mini lorry were taken into custody at Lunama in Ambalantota Police area by Samadigama STF personnel acting on a tip off. The consignment of drugs was also seized.
The STF officers said the consignment of cannabis was being transported from Thanamalwila. On interrogation the suspects revealed that the cannabis was being sold to retail traders.
The vehicle and the two suspects along with the consignment of cannabis were to be produced before the Agunakolapelessa Police, STF officials said.
