One person was killed and four others sustained injuries,when their van collided head on with a container lorry in Avudangawa in Sigiriya.
The injured were admitted to the Dambulla base hospital.The victims were identified as the employees of a wedding decor company who were returning to Kandy after decorating a wedding held in Sigiriya.
Initial investigations revealed the van driver had fallen asleep when the accident is occurred, the Sigiriya Police said. The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old resident in Dambulla.
