A survey will be conducted to collect data on non communicable diseases (NCDs) through mobile phones, the Health Ministry said.
All mobile service providers in Sri Lanka will take part in conducting this survey to begin next year.The Bloomberg foundation in U.S is funding the survey. Bloomberg Foundation representatives met Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne recently and held a discussion on the survey.According to the latest health statistics in Sri Lanka, over 70 percent of mortality and morbidity is due to NCDs such as heart disease, diabetes and strokes.
