Two Army women officers to serve as UN observers

The first two Sri Lanka Army female officers selected to serve in the Central African Republic as Military Observers (MILOBS) in UN Peace Keeping Mission in Central Africa (MINUSCA) received blessings of the Army Commander, Lt. General Mahesh Senanayake on the eve of their departure to Central African Republic. Major Dishanthi Mendis of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) and Major Nishanthi Liyanage of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) will serve one year. The officers with the Army Commander and Operations Director Brigadier Aruna Muhandiram and SLAWC Colonel Commandant, Brigadier Dilrukshi Munasinghe before their departure.
