Health Officials attached to the Kirinda-Puhulwella Divisional Office of the Medical Officer of Health have intensified mosquito eradication campaigns in the area.
During this campaigns, 48 houses were detected with mosquito breeding sites. Thirty eight householders were issued red notices and legal action were taken against seven. They would be prosecuted in the Matara Magistrate’s Court, health officers said.
State institutes and residents of the area participated in the programme, they said.
