Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne and a Sri Lankan delegation took part in the Global Ministerial conference on Ending TB in the Sustainable Development Era, held in Moscow, Russian Federation on November 16 and 17.
Minister Senaratne briefed on the action taken by the Health Ministry to end TB by 2030 as targeted by the WHO.
Health Ministers from over 40 countries, NGOs, UN officials and many others took part in the meeting. Health Ministers from other countries welcomed the action taken by the Sri Lankan Health Minister to control TB and eliminate several diseases such as Malaria, he said.
Dr. Sujatha Senaratne and several officials from the Health Ministry and other institutions come under the Health Ministry took part in the event.
