Cheques worth Rs.56.9 mn left in Kandy train

The Kandy railway station security officers found a package containing cheques worth Rs.56.9 million left in an express train to Kandy from Colombo, last Saturday. The security officers handed over the package to the main security office at the Kandy railway station.

The cheques belonged to a private company in Boralesgamuwa.

The package was returned to an agent sent by the company following a verification. The security officers of the Kandy railway station conduct checks when a train arrives in Kandy. The package was found in a similar security check.
