Sinhale Jathika Balamuluwa video removed from FB

The social media website Facebook has decided to remove a live recorded video on the mob attack against Rohingya refugees who were housed in a UNHCR facility in Mount Lavinia. The video was posted in the Sinhale Jathika Balamuluwa-official page. The attack was carried out by protesters against refugees given shelter in Sri Lanka. The video captures the mob attack led by monks, threatening the refugees and hurling abusive words at them. Following several complaints to the Facebook administration, Facebook has removed it stating that the said video violated its Community Standards.

The Police arrested six suspects involved in the attack against refugees last week.
