The President and members of the Rotary Club of Ja-Ela-Kandana held a session on ‘Highway Code and respect the rights of others on the road + Who is a policeman/woman’ for pre-school children of St. Mary’s church, Tudella, on October 1, being ‘International Children’s Day.’

The traffic branch of the Ja-Ela police conducted a basic awareness to approximately 50 pre-school (second year) children with the participation of parents, teachers and Parish Priest of Tudella St. Mary’s church.

Traffic OIC Inspector Seneviratne made an interesting and fun-filled presentation for the children on the basics of road-usage as a pedestrian and a pillion rider on a motor cycle/scooter and the safety precautions to be taken. The parents were also reminded of their responsibility when accompanying children on the road.

The programme was conducted on a concept of the Rotary District 3220 Governor Ven. Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thera.
