Small elephant herds roaming in the Hambantota Municipal Council area has caused great inconvenience to residents in the area.
Most affected are the residents in Katuwewa, Mayurapura, Warayagama, Caregama, Nagarawewa and Gonnoruwa road. Elephants could be seen around the administrative centre, Ayurveda hospital and government quarters, both during day and night.
