A security guard of a private resort was shot by an unidentified armed man in Bentota yesterday.
The injured security guard was taken to the Bentota hospital and later transferred to the Nagoda Hospital.
The victim was identified as Jasenthu Patabedi Janith, a 52-year-old retired Army Lance Corporal residing in Ambalangoda
The hotel had been closed for renovation at the time of the incident.
Bentota Police is conducting further investigations
