Since the No Confidence Motion (NCM) submitted by the Joint Opposition against Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne contained several serious legal issues it is unlikely to be allowed to be taken up in Parliament, Higher Education and Highways Minister Lakshman Kiriella said.
Addressing a group of journalists at his office in Kandy, Kiriella said that the Non Confidence Motion against Minister Senaratne does not appear to have been drafted by professional lawyers.
It may have been drafted by a Goda Perakadoruwa. “We will pinpoint the legal issues in the Non Confidence Motion at the right time.
“After all, the Speaker has not accepted it “, he said. He said that the UNP is fully prepared to face the Local Government election at any time and the candidates have already been selected through interviews.
