Rakitha Malewana and Senel Wanniarachchi who won Queen’s Young Leaders Award for their work in the fields of HIV/AIDS and social engagement called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. Malewana and Wanniarachchi were among 60 young people from across the Commonwealth who received awards from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace recently. Malewana, 21 has been chosen in recognition of his work on HIV/AIDS, and 24-year-old Wanniarachchi was recognised for his work on informing and engaging members of his community through the use of social media.
