A 46-year-old father of two died after being hit by a lorry transporting sand at Thelambugalla last night.
The deceased was identified as P.D Saman Bandula.
Police said that the victim was attempting to cross the road when the crash took place and he has succumbed due to severe head injuries.
Galewela Police arrested the lorry driver.
He will be produced before the Magistrate today.
