A tense situation was created at the Kolonnawa Petroleum Storage Complex during an attempt made by Security forces and Police to evacuate Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) workers today.
The Police arrested ten individuals due to unruly behaviour.
However the Sri Lankan Army was able to dispatch fifteen fuel bowsers from the Kolonnawa Petroleum Storage Complex amids the tense situation.
Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said at the Cabinet briefing today that fuel distribution will be restored by afternoon.
