Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said today in Parliament that tobacco cultivation will be banned in Sri Lanka by 2020.
Minister Senaratne said on April 10 that tobacco cultivation in Sri Lanka has gone down by 300 hectares since the government took a decision to discourage the cultivation.
He added that Ministerial statics say that earlier 2,500 hectares of tobacco was cultivated in Sri Lanka.
