Secretary to the President P. B. Abeykoon has tendered his resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena, reliable sources from the Presidential Secretariat told the Daily News yesterday evening.
Sources said he contemplated resigning from the post for a considerable period due to personal reasons.
Abeykoon joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service and held senior positions in the public service till 2015.
