Doctors at the Galle Teaching Hospital saved the life of a father of four children by performing a miracle surgery to remove a Gliricidia pole that pierced his left leg when he fell down from a coconut tree. The surgery was performed by Vascular Surgeon Dr.Ranjuka Ubayasiri and the patient was Edirige Piyasiri (55), a resident in Angunakolapelessa.
