Finance and Mass Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera met the representatives of the Chamber of Provincial Entrepreneurs at the ministry and held discussions to iron out the difficulties faced by them on Wednesday. The representatives briefed Minister Samaraweera on issues faced by them with regard to the calculation of taxes and the payment of VAT and other taxes by small scale entrepreneurs.
Minister Samaraweera said the Treasury will rectify the issues through the next budget. Finance State Minister Eran Wickramaratne and Treasury Secretary Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga also participated.
