A man struck his wife’s head by an axe after an argument at their residence in Polpithigama, Moragollagama, yesterday.
The husband struck the thirty-eight-year-old woman of four children, 6 inches deep.
He has also dislocated the woman’s arm three days ago.
However the woman survived the assault since she was admitted to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital without removing the sunken axe.
She is receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Polpithigama Police arrested the husband yesterday.
He will be produced before Mahawa Courts today.
Polpithigama Police is investigating.
