Sri Lanka – China extradition treaty receives Cabinet approval

 

The extradition treaty between Sri Lanka and the Peoples’ Republic of China received the Cabinet nod this week.

The treaty regarding the extradition process was signed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during his official visit to China last year.

Thereafter, President Sirisena in his capacity as Minister of Defence put forward the treaty on Tuesday for Cabinet approval.

Sri Lanka also shares extradition treaties with Russia, Hong Kong, Italy, Maldives, Russia, UAE, USA, Vietnam, Turkey and Ukraine.
