Police announced that a special traffic plan will be in affect from tomorrow till May 13 due to Vessak celebrations.
The following roads will be closed from 7 p.m. within the course of the above mentioned dates.
Bauddhaloka Mawata – Borella cemetery junction to Stanley Wijesundara junction.
Gregory’s road - Kinsey road junction to Metland Kresent junction.
James Peiris road - Slave Island roundabout to Piththala junction
Dawson lane - Union place to Baybrook place
Baybrook place - Hyde park road junction to Muththaiya road, Park lane junction
Jinarathana Mawatha - James Peiris Mawatha junction to Park lane junction
Chaithya Road – N.S.A. roundabout to Colombo Harbour
The Police urged commuters to avoid using roads which will be dense with traffic, to use public transport as much as possible and to avoid parking vehicles in unreserved places.
775 Police officers have been assigned duty to control traffic in respective areas.
