The world’s first Vesak pandal erected with laser technology at Galle Face Green concurrent to the Colomtotha Vesak Zone will be unveiled for public view by President Maithripala Sirisena on Vesak Full Moon Poya Day, May 10. The laser technology pandal erected on a concept of Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga will be exhibited till May 14. The Colomthota Vesak Zone jointly organised by the Ports and Shipping Ministry, the SLPA and the Port Buddhist Association will for the fourth time be centred on Galle Face Green and the Colombo Port Complex.
The laser pandal which is 40-feet long and 60-feet tall will portray the important aspects of the Buddha’s life.
The laser pandal is a creation of Dr. Prabath Chandima Ukwatte. Background music is by Wimalajeewa Dombawatta and the story by Dimuthu Chinthaka.
