GMOA notifies Minister Seneviratne on threats made by Rajitha

T​he Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) will inform Labour and Trade Union Relations Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne about the threat made by Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to the GMOA which is a Trade Union, GMOA Media Spokesman Dr. Samantha Ananda said.

Addressing a press conference held at the GMOA Head Quarters in Colombo yesterday evening he said that in addition to that the GMOA will inform the International Labour Organization (ILO), Europe​a​n Union (EU) and the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) in Geneva.

GMOA Editor Dr. Nalinda Herath said that a fresh court case will by filed by the GMOA within next two weeks ag​a​inst SAITM. The GMOA was not allowed to join any of the on going court cases in connection with SAITM. GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said the GMOA along with several other trade unions in several sectors will take a crucial decision on May 9 on an island ​wide strike to be launched within the next two weeks.
